- About lacquerware and craftsmen
Yamanaka lacquerware is a traditional craft made mainly in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It is said that the kiji master who lived by making a sawn pottery vessel settled in the shinsago upstream of Yamanaka Onsen and ground the wood ground, and it boasts the largest production in Japan in the sawn timber base now.
○ Shoji Kubo, Takuto Lacquer Works
Founded in 1946, for more than 70 years, kijiya has been grinding wood in yamanaka, Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, along with the philosophy of dialogue with wood and harmonizing without control. Shoji Kubo, the second generation craftsman who is a modern table and craftsman head, has a career as a woody master for 60 years, and continues to polish his traditional techniques with the times in order to deliver products that make use of wood to more people.
Takaoka lacquerware is said to have originated in 1609 when Toshinaga Maeda, the lord of the Kaga domain, made daily items such as armor, chests of drawers, and zens when he heard about the town of Takaoka. Since then, he has produced a variety of techniques, especially crafting, which has become a representative technique of Takaoka lacquerware.
○ Musashigawa Kobo Musashikawa Goji
Founded in 1910, The Fourth Generation Musashikawa Goji, a young traditional craftsman at Musashigawa Kobo, inherited the tradition and technique of Takaoka lacquerware”, “Aoi-nuri Aoi-nuri”, and was certified as a traditional craftsman in 2015. - How to use lacquerware
Lacquerware and flowers can be used in various ways depending on the idea as a coaster or bean dish. By painting the shibo style to the inside, it has become a design that is hard to stand out even if scratches stick while using it every day. It is the size that edo kiriko lens glass and lens type tumbler fit perfectly.

Lacquerware, tsu, raden, and cylinders can be used as all-round lacquerware that is active in many everyday scenes such as drinks, soups, and boiled dishes. In particular, we recommend a transparent drink that you can use while feeling the radiance of raden.
