“Craft Initiatives at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa: Diversifying Crafts and Art in the 21st Century”
Yuko Hasegawa (Director, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa)

Director of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa / Professor, Graduate School of Global Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. Curator/Art Criticism. Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Kyoto University. Completed the master’s program at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. After serving as curator of Art Tower Mito, visiting curator of the Whitney Museum of American Art, curator of the Setagaya Museum of Art, curator and artistic director of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, and chief curator and counselor of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, he became director of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa in April 2021. Agency for Cultural Affairs Director-General’s Award (2020). Major exhibitions include the 7th Istanbul Biennale “Ego Fugal” (2001), the 4th Shanghai Biennale (2002), the 29th Sao Paulo Biennale (2010), the 11th Sharjah Biennale “Re-emerge, toward a new cultural cartography” (2013), the 7th Moscow Biennale “Clouds⇆Forest” (2017), the 2nd Thailand Biennale (2021), etc. Her major publications include Curation: The Power to Shake Knowledge and Sensibility, Contemporary Art Starting from Why, Destroying Them: Women Artists Softly Cross Boundaries, Japanorama: Contemporary Art in Japan since 1970, and New Ecology and Art: The Anthropocene as a “Confusing Period.”

「KOGEI as luxury」 
Yuki Wasano (Art Communicator / Doctor)

Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Tokyo Medical University. While working as a doctor, he obtained a doctorate in art management from the Department of Aesthetics and Art History, Faculty of Letters, Keio University. Specializes in marketing research on the purchasing behavior of contemporary art collectors. At the same time, he conducts practical research on the value of artists through various methods in close proximity such as business, education, and medicine. Sponsored by PROJECT501 in Harajuku to disseminate the new charm of art from the perspective of an art collector. In the Corona disaster, he launched a new community “New Kind of Mmigrations”  https://immgr.site/about  by SMES Masamichi Toyama and became the head of the secretariat. This fall, he produced fishmarket  https://fishmarket-kanazawa.com/jp  , a residential studio co-created by contemporary artist Hiraki Sawa and British architect AB Rogers in Kanazawa. ■KOGEI Art Fair Kanazawa  
The 6th Art Fair in Japan Dedicated to Crafts
“KOGEI Art Fair Kanazawa” is the only art fair in Japan that has been held in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture since 2017. From works by up-and-coming young artists to works by world-renowned artists, galleries from Japan and abroad are gathered under one roof. The charm of “KOGEI” has been transmitted from the city of Kanazawa, where various traditional cultures such as tea ceremony, Zen, and Noh theater have taken root in daily life. This art fair uses a hotel room display method so that visitors can take their time to pick up highly artistic and creative works in a space closer to their daily lives.
