• Echizen Paint “Irodori“

Echizen lacquerware is an industry that Fukui Prefecture is proud of. Its history dates back to about 1,500 years ago and to the 6th century, the end of the Kofun Period.
Echizen lacquerware has tableware called “commercial lacquerware”, and 80% of commercial lacquerware is still produced here. Most of them do not use lacquer, and are widely sold as lacquer-style vessels for restaurants and everyday use at home, with urethane coating that is more reasonable and stronger than lacquer.
Echizen lacquerware is a traditional craft that has both continuous and inherited technology and evolution according to the times.

This project was launched with the desire to convey the appeal of Echizen lacquerware to many people of a wider range of ages.
In order to be able to touch japanese traditional crafts more easily, we apply Echizen coating to items that are often used in everyday life, such as stainless steel bottles and tumblers. (Lacquer is not used in this product, and it becomes urethane paint.)

By preparing multiple variations of vivid colors and patterns unique to urethane painting, we aimed at a design that can be accepted by those who were not familiar with Echizen lacquerware until now.
The paint is handled by a skilled Echizen lacquerware craftsman with a track record of being used in custom-made cases of a certain famous confectionery company overseas.
Stylish stainless steel tableware plus the beautiful color of Echizen coating.
It is a drinkware that makes the tabletop gorgeous at a glance.
